I find this imagery by Annie Kammerer Butrus so gorgeous, ethereal, organic and so beyond any kind of design I am normally attracted to. Just yesterday while picking out paint for our garage doors, the kid in the paint dept said "are you sure that you want THAT green for the doors?" and I said, "My house seriously looks like a Swedish pirate ship that also has a teepee in the living room. This is perfect." It is an acid green that I saw on Anna's amazing blog.
Anyway.
Since I can't really put it into words, I've put the words from the site right here. Clever, right? "In the tradition of the Impressionists, who were obsessed with chronological tracking of light, I start the paintings outside and trace and retrace shadows of trees, leaves, fruit, and branches on the panels as the sun moves overhead." Lovely.
